Arepas are flatbreads made of ground maize, and loaded with a variety of toppings. The flat breads are naturally gluten free (GF) and found most prominently in the cuisine of Columbia and Venezuela. We will be making arepas and having fun with different GF toppings.
The class will be held in the Chef’s Playground area of the Food Court on the ground level of the hospital.
Kids in the Kitchen is a series of cooking demonstrations aimed at teaching kids about special diets, making good food choices and learning how to cook. The classes are demonstrations, not hands-on. However, there will be opportunities for audience participation.
Space is limited, RSVP to CeliacKidsConnection@childrens.harvard.edu.
